The transformation of the Westin Ottawa for Starwood began with a new continuous floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall that simultaneously re-established the exterior sense of arrival and re-imagined the interior lobby space. With a 3-story custom fireplace as the centerpiece , more inviting finishes and atmospheric lighting [grey concrete walls recovered in richly veined marble, cold travertine flooring replaced with warm tones of taupe and brown suede limestone, columns clad in walnut, and alabaster back lit panels], greeted visitors with modern sophistication and a touch of the theatrical -- all culminating with one-of-a-kind crystal chandeliers designed to mimic a fireworks display.
